Good Corporate Citizen Award

2022 Good Corporate Citizen Award

Caravan parks around Queensland make significant contributions to their local communities each year and often this good work goes unnoticed. The Good Corporate Citizen award allows CPAQ members to be recognised by their peers for the support they provide to their local community.

This award is presented to a park owner/operator that has made a significant contribution to the local community within the last twelve months. This may be through a significant donation or financial contribution to a community project, hosting a community event in their park or involvement in local activities.

Who Should Apply?

Any Queensland caravan park that has made a significant contribution to the local community within the last twelve months.

Tips for answering the questions

With all nominations it is important that the judges can see clear empirical evidence of improvement, not just anecdotal evidence of the improvements. Empirical evidence makes it easy for a judge to justify their reasoning in terms of scoring each nomination.

What do you do to be a good corporate citizen?

Tell us a bit about your activities, including who or what they support and how they are run in your park. You have 200 words here so provide plenty of details about your activities

Why did you choose this activity and this recipient?

Why is this activity or recipient important to your business? Is there someone in your business or community that has made an impact or is your activity/s in response to a need you have seen across the community.

What impact does this have on your local community?

Tell us about what this activity or support means to your local community. How has it supported the community and given back? You have 200 words to use here so consider including details of the outcomes of your activities

How do you get buy in from your staff/guests?

Guest and staff buy in with activities like this is what makes them work, how do you ensure that everyone gets involved and is as committed to the cause as you are?

What advice do you have for other operators on being a Good Corporate Citizen?

This is your opportunity to share with other operators, to encourage them to be leaders in their community and to help them participate more fully.

Is there anything else you would like the judges to know

Is there anything else you would like the judges to know to assist them with the judging process?

It is important in any awards application to give as much information as possible and take every opportunity to showcase the achievements of the nominated team. Use this question to provide additional information, this may be why you are proud of the team, the impact it has had beyond guest reviews and financial results, what winning the award would mean to you or something else you feel is important for the judges to know.

Other information to be supplied

It is important that you include each of the items requested in the other information supplied section, this is a chance to get some easy points and in the past has been the difference between the winning nomination and the nomination that came second.

Maximum of 10 photos showing your activities

Provide clear photos or a video which show the activities you have run in your business.

If you wish to submit large files (or a video) please contact the CPAQ Team and we will supply you with an online folder you can upload the images into.

Maximum of 5 pieces of evidence e.g. certificates or letters of thanks

This is an excellent way to support your application. Consider asking the organisations you support for a letter of appreciation or include copies of any certificates of appreciation you have received as thanks for your activities.
